Phnom Penh, June 4, 2025 — The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Daikin Airconditioning (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. To strengthen Air Conditioning Standards and Sustainability in the HVAC Sector in Cambodia.
The MoU sets out a framework for cooperation in enhancing national air conditioning standards through technical support, capacity building, and the adoption of sustainable HVAC technologies. This collaboration aims to align Cambodia’s HVAC sector with international best practices, improve energy efficiency, and support the country’s climate goals.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Minister HEM Vanndy of MISTI and Mr. Akinori Atarashi, Associate officer, Regional General Manager, Air Conditioner in ASEAN and Oceania, Global Operation Division, Chairman of the Board, Daikin Industries (Thailand) Ltd.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to improving industrial standards and promoting sustainable technologies for the benefit of the Cambodian people and our environment,” Minister Vanndy said.
Mr. Toshiyuki Tanaka, Managing Director of Daikin Airconditioning (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., welcomed the collaboration, stating, “We are proud to support Cambodia’s journey toward energy-efficient, air-conditioning solutions and environmentally responsible”. Through this partnership, Daikin will share global experience and expertise to help build local capacity and contribute to Cambodia’s long-term sustainable development.”
